The 7800x3d has the capability to boost to even 6.2GHz for a brief second i have a heavy overclock in mine and it does boost to 6.2ghz in game its all about the thermal capacity with thus CPU in other terms if your cooling is powerful and can keep the CPU under 89C then with PBO it will boost to 6.2GHz sometimes but notice that the 3D part of the CPU is not boosting beyond 5050GHz as thats the part that caused all the issues before so how to keeo it safe first ok to overclock it just add a negative all core 30 curve in PBO in your bois and increase the FLk clock to 101 or max 102 second and most important do a manually undervolt by setting the SOC votage to max 1.25 don't exceed that V with the over clock and trust me this CPU is the fastest in gaming and can still do 19K cinebench R23 which is crazy as stock is 16Kso ya dont worry if your cooler is good and the voltage is in check then the normal cores on the 7800X3D are capable of boosting to insane numbers just for a brief second now one last thing make sure your the latest bois of your MB as this CPU if it feels something is wrong it will restart your system right away hope this helps --- if Voltage is not in check the CPU will degrad over time watch out
